Containment Rate

Containment rate is the share of conversations an automated agent handles entirely on its own, without transferring to a human.

High containment lowers cost only if the contained conversations are actually resolved; containment without resolution shifts cost downstream.

It is closely related to deflection rate and should be read together with resolution and satisfaction metrics.
