A fine-tuned agent is an AI agent built on a model further trained on domain- or task-specific data to improve performance on its target work.

Fine-tuning adapts a base model to a narrower domain, which can raise quality but adds training and maintenance cost and can age as data shifts.

Whether fine-tuning pays off is an empirical question best settled by evaluating outcomes against a benchmark, not by assuming a tuned model is better.
