Data Tier
A data tier is a quality ranking assigned to a benchmark input based on how it was sourced, with verified transactions weighted above weaker evidence like list prices or scraped data.
Tiering lets an index combine sources of differing reliability while keeping the strongest evidence most influential and flagging where a figure rests on thin or unverified data.
In the WorkForce methodology, attested transactions are the top tier feeding the WorkForce Labor Index; lower tiers inform categories that lack transaction data yet.
