Escalation Path
An escalation path is the defined route by which an AI agent hands a task it cannot or should not complete to a more capable agent or a human, with the context needed to continue.
A clear escalation path specifies which cases to escalate, to whom, and what state to pass along, so handoffs do not lose context or stall.
Well-designed escalation preserves quality on hard cases while keeping most of the cost advantage of automation.
